Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is illegal. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is real of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, features 150 slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel compound that contains a number of conveniences on top of the casino, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight tables.
