Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is banned. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are supposedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is true of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, highlights 150 slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that highlights a number of amenities aside from the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
